Purpose: To develop, enhance and support partnerships among local businesses and the education community
Objectives: 1) West Jordan “Heroes in Education” Award
*Annual award given to outstanding individuals who have made a difference in education
2) Most Improved Student Award
*Annual award given in recognition of outstanding self-resilient performance by a student in the West
Jordan area
3) Learning Community Partnership Program
*Contributors of the program are: Employers, Employee Groups, Individuals, and Organizations, who
provide materials, financial support and/or expertise to West Jordan students
4) Job Shadowing Resource
*With the endorsement and supervision of a work-based learning coordinator, West Jordan students
will be allowed to spend up to two days shadowing a position that is related to their career goals
5) Job Interview Experience
*Local Employers make employees available to accept applications, resumes, conduct interviews, and
critique high school students in real job interview settings
6) New Teacher Appreciation
*West Jordan Chamber of Commerce will provide a welcome packet for all new teachers in the West
Jordan area
